Is there some context in which the viewport does not match the Render settings? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks very much.

Do you have several Render Settings?

I have attached an example with two Render Settings. Still, each time, the little square (Active setting used for rendering) and selected name (showing the parameters of the settings) are chosen differently. They are leading to an unwanted result.
