The line is at height 1, and the arc is at height 0. Why is the arc higher in the render? I can't attach scene here

        Hi manufacturer-office,

Could you make a copy of the scene and delete anything that doesn't contribute to this result?
If there are only two little elements left, or perhaps set up an example scene, then I could take a look at it. Thank you..

        Cheers

            Thanks for the file, manufacturer-office.

All the ideas I had before receiving your file failed to solve the problem, which means I avoided a lot of questions that would have solved nothing. So, thanks for the file.

This was new to me; I have never seen that problem since S&T's introduction, way back in time.

            Solve it this way:

Set the Intermedia Points of the Linear Spline to Natural, e.g., 8 or higher.
            or
Subdivide the Straight Spline, perhaps with 10 in the Spline> Add> Subdivide: 10

I hope that solves it as well in the complete scene. Please let me know.

            All the best

I tried to find solutions in the ST settings, although it definitely says "Sketch and Toon follows a drawing order for the lines:

              • If the lines are at different depths from the camera, the one closest to the camera is drawn on top.
              "
Thank you very much for your solution. As far as I understand, the 2 ways are actually one solution (add intermediate points explicitly in one case, and implicitly in the second). For me this is also unexpected behavior of "ST"

              ps
Interestingly, this behavior is not observed in c4d R11 for example

                Hi manufacturer-office,

Yes, it took me a while; in other words, that is not how it should be.
I can support you in your view; there is no argument here, not even remotely.

The one closer to the camera should always overwrite the one farther away. Yes. Nothing to add.

I don't have R11 running here anymore, but I keep all older computers, just in case. R11 was released in 2008, and I'm sure I have it on my eight-core " cheese grinder" Mac. But that one is sitting in the Garage, not set up.

I had success with both, and yes, they can also be combined. Both solutions do the same thing directly; the other is more virtual. I agree.

Sketch and Toons, as far as I remember, was released in 2003, and if you have any suggestions on how to make it more to your liking, please use the "Share Your Ideas" option here:
                https://www.maxon.net/en/support-center

Please keep the ideas coming; the link above is the shortest way to get this right into the center of Maxon. You have my support.

My two cents on what happens: The information density is insufficient. I write this in the end to share my impression, not as an excuse. If that is not easy/fast fixable, I hope to get that information into the manual.

Thanks for the effort with the file.

Have a great weekend, and thanks again.
