Actually... I do not need to see your file. I have gotten it working. Ticking off the field button was what I was forgetting! Excellent.

I'd love to see your file as well. Thank you for the help (again!)

RE: C4D hair instances and redshiftposted in Question & Answers
Thanks for the reply! Here is a dropbox file. I tried to get rid of everything not necessary to at least show what I'm trying to accomplish. Basically.. any color gradient along the length of the object. You can see, in my "remesh" object, I have a vertex gradient in the surface. Seems like maybe I might have to do something with UV's but not sure the hair will recognize that. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/1q1vcvha7nz0ffghh5mg3/Redshift_Hair_Instance_v01.c4d?rlkey=xaijznclu9rchkrxkyr70neag&dl=0

C4D hair instances and redshiftposted in Question & Answers
I am instancing an object to hairs. I noticed vertex maps do not work when trying to render redshift and hairs. Is there a way to respect vertex maps? or is there a way to, say have a ramp of color along the length of the hairs on a redshift / C4D hair instance object so it mimics the original ramp?

RE: Sculpting on an alembic fileposted in Question & Answers
Upon a quick test on my alembic file, using the Correction Deformer definitely helps. Not as flexible as I was hoping, but more on track to fix some pesky passthru issues if needed. Thank you!

Thank you, Dr. Sassi. I will give this a try when I can. I opted not to send a file, due to project sensitive material. I guess I could always setup a test-file in these cases. Thanks again.

Sculpting on an alembic fileposted in Question & Answers
Is there an easy way to sculpt on an alembic file that works during the animation play backin C4D? I have an older, great tool called Chronosculpt that does this perfectly, but needs MDD files first. I've tried sculpting an ABC file in C4D using morphs and poses, but gives me horrible results. The point count is not changing either. Could be a mode that I'm not familiar with in the pose setup too.. but I played around with "in-place" and still had issues. Thanks!
