Cinema 4D 2023 Crashes on Opening

    I just installed the latest version of Cinema 4d. When I go to open C4d I get "Cinema 4D: Application Error". Then prompted with "Problem Details and System Configuration screen.
    Also, uninstall is greyed out on the Maxon app. I am on a Mac Ventura 13.0.1. I have uninstalled manually and reinstalled and the problem persist. I also updated Redshift to latest version. Thank you in advance.

      The problem seems to occurs on startup screen when it states "Initializing Layout"

        I found the issue was to manually remove preferences folder.

            It's doesn't work. Removed the Preferences folder but my last project won't open. Three day of work, I cannot believe.

              What version do you work in and if not the newest, have you checked to update?

              Please contact tech support with your file:
              https://www.maxon.net/en/support-center

              Can you open a new project, or is everything not working anymore

              Did you have AutoSave on, or have you saved iterations?

              Did the app crashed, and then the problems started? If so, go to the Library, and open the folder "_bugreprots", perhaps there is a copy of your file.

              Checked your Drive?

              Fingers crossed, something shows up.

                I rendered the project some hours ago. I saved and closed c4d. Than the client asked me to modify some props and I was not able to re-open thes project. All the others projects are good but this.
                I re-installed the R26.110 version but every time iI try to re-open this big project c4d crash.

                  So, Independent from the file, you can't start the app? Which makes me hopeful that the project file is not the problem.

                    Yes i can start the App. As usual the support said me that it takes not less than two days for an answer.

                      Hi Gianni,

                      Yes, I understand, when you need it –– even 24 hours might feel endless.

                      I have been in your shoes, and since I try to save often, have increments, and autosave on, while using different drives.
                      Anyway, that is not helping right now, I know.

                      When I wrote to look into that specific folder, I meant to look for the c4d file that might have been created at one point perhaps.

                      Have you tried to copy the file and merge it into a new scene or connect via X-Ref? Not that I have high hopes, but just in case.
