R16 GUI is broken / macOS 14
-
Hello,
I've updated my mac to macOS 14 Sonoma and discovered that my R16 GUI is broken.
When I'm hovering some GUI element, others GUI elements replicates this very one element, which is hovered. You can see better on my screenshots...
Under macOS 13 Ventura everything is working just fine.
Asked MAXON support about what could be the reason and how to eliminate such a behaviour, but unfortunately they supposed to make an upgrade...
I'll appreciate any reasonable looking idea to make my R16 work again.Thank you!

Hi plane-meu,
This is the site issue forum. Please use it for questions or problems regarding the site only. Thank you.
R16 was published in 2014. No one could predict what we would do in 2023 back in 2014. A lot has changed.
Mixing new OS and old apps is not suggested; based on the results, I assume you agree here. I'm not supposed to do tech support here for many good reasons.
I have not tried it, nor do I have a system that will run MacOS 14 and has R16 installed, but a wild guess would be: how is it working after you installed Rosseta? There is no promise nor any further advice here; just a tip. Again, this is a wild guess!

Hi Dr. Sassi,
thank you anyway for your kind suggestion. In reality it was the first thing I did. Unfortunately it doesn't help. I hoped that someone could know which system library is responsible for the GUI buttons and their behaviour, just to figure out from where I should begin to search for a helpful workaround possibly...
So for now I still need help ))
Kind regards! -
Hi plane-menu,
All I can share is perhaps to install it newly; if you did that already, then I have no further suggestions. Sorry.
I know the feeling of losing an app that moves one in no time into the zone (or call it flow), but either/or. I keep an old iMac here for that, which I will never update.
All the best
P.S.: I will close this thread. Thanks for understanding.
