Hi I was wondering what could be the best ways to import a sketchup file into C4D.

I try with the .skp, the material is fine but the problem is that it doesn't import camera and with the file .dae the camera are there but all the texture/material is gone and the mesh is all black.

also i was wondering if there was a plugin or something that could facilitate the process

Can someone help me to figure it out please

      Thank you

Would you mind sharing a demo file, chicken-remote?

Please use Dropbox, Google, Apple, Adobe, or Wetransfer as a cloud service.
Texture size can be small; just check it on my side.

When I read your post, you get either part of the scene or the other. Have you tried to open one and then use the File> Merge project to get the other?

I assume you have a camera as an option checked!?

          Cheers

here is a link to a test https://we.tl/t-CdT7wsLtAB
and this is the .skp file https://we.tl/t-aLyQYxnpjc
Can you explain to me why the cameras from sketchup don't follow with a .skp but with a .dae.
I tested it and the material is there but the camera with the dae is all mess up and I don't know why.
I am all new to this and i am better with blender

            Thank you for helping me

Thank you very much for the file, chicken-remote.

I have no current SketchUp file, and the free online version seems limited. The last license I used for a presentation here in L.A. at the ADG (a long time ago) is no longer running or updating.

I can confirm that there is no option currently showing up in 2024 that allows multiple cameras to be imported via skp.
I have filed a new request since this has been a long-term problem.

So, I'm not the only one asking for this.

I guess, for now, multiple cameras need the dual file approach. Not fun, I get that!

              Cheers
