Extending Object Tracker Animation - Can't Save
-
Hey there,
I'd like to extend an object track by manually animating some frames once the tracker has lost it's tracking points. Which is possible to do but for some reason, you cannot save the animation and when opening the file back up, all keyframes are lost.
Is there a workaround for this?
The reason I'm manually animating the end of the sequence is because the trackers on the object move off of the screen but I'd like to continue the motion of the object, extending the animation.
Hope someone can help!

Found a solution thanks to a friend.
Dropped a null into the object tracker and used 'AR_Bake PSR' to bake the animation onto the null. Then pulled the geometry from the tracker and parented it to the null instead. Now you can animate the keys and the data is saved on exit.
Hope this helps someone!

Hi CuriousPeter,
The Keyframes you have on the Object Tracker can be copied (Time Line> Dopesheet) and pasted to an object that has animated PSR channels.
It is a few clicks and done.
This object is now Independent from the Object Tracker and can be adjusted for the needed parts.
As a side note, the Motion System allows you to create Animation clips. You can place a "layer" on top of that Animation Clip and adjust the animation without "changing" the main animation.
I saw that you found your solution, and it is perfect when it works for you.
My best wishes for your project

Hey Dr. Sassi!
Thanks for your reply... Wow... What a simple workaround. I feel like a doughnut for not trying that one!
The 'layer' option sounds like a great workaround too. I'll try that one on the next project. Many thanks!

Hi CuriousPeter,
You're very welcome!
Thanks for your feedback. That doughnut feeling is undoubtedly familiar to anyone moving fast or spreading widely.
I try to learn a new app every month, mostly because I'm curious, but also to keep that feeling of being new to something, be it the app itself or a new part that needs to be discovered.
I hope that remedies this feeling. Just keep going and enjoy!Cheers

Haha thanks for the reassurance and the motivation. Appreciate it

You're very welcome, CuriousPeter.
Doing this for so long, I guess I went through most phases that this activity creates.
Enjoy the ride!
