      Hello.

I have 7 project files, each about 7mb, from 2006.

I can no longer open them. I just need them converted. I'll relink all the materials.

You sure would be helping a fellow C4D artist out! The Dropbox link is below.

      Thanks!

        Hi black-internet,

The way to get this done is typically by asking tech support to provide an older version for the task.
        https://www.maxon.net/en/support-center

This ensures that you can explore if a conversion works or if saving all parts into a different format (e.g., baking effects from older options into the results)
Please note that older plug-ins and anything code-based might not be able to be converted based on opening files in R19, then in something more recent. Since 2006 a lot has changed.

I will leave this link here for a short time. Typically, I can't provide this kind of support.

Thank you Dr. Sassi. I did, in fact, contact tech support after I posted here. I had this happen several years ago, and I remembered I had done that after I poster.

My apologies. And thank you for the conversions!

            Hi black-internet,

You are very welcome; I'm sure there are innumerable files on many artist's drives. Hence, I hesitate to offer that, as I like to provide for everyone similarly. Which might test my capacity a lot when converting those ;-). But yes, I know the feeling of having content and trouble accessing it.

Yes, tech support is the way to go, and then you have the direct control over it.

            Enjoy your Sunday.
