Hi - I am making a product installation video and I need to animate a piece of cord being passed through a series of irregularly spaced holes, then being pulled taut. What is the simplest method to achieve this? Thanks in advance.

        Hi higlight-size,

Perhaps that is too simple, but surely a starter to know more about what you like to have. How long, what aesthetic (Toonish or realistic), and do you have a story-board?

Thanks for this - I'll see if I can adapt it convincingly - the style I'm working with is more on the toon-ish side - like illustrated instructions - but I needed animation to indicate to indicate, among other things, the route of the cord . This approach seems easier than a simulation where you are pushing and pulling the end of the rope.

Perhaps explore if a single Spline between two "ports" might give you more options. You can also set up single splines, merge them into one, and explore the segment options of the catenary spline modifier.

            Enjoy your project
