My workstation is an Intel i7-14700, paired with an Nvidia Geforce RTX 4070 Super (latest studio drivers), with 32GB RAM. Windows 11, Cinema 4D 2025.1.0.
In the tutorial, the particles generated very quickly and played back smoothly, when it was set to emit at a rate of 10,000,000.
However, when I set 10,000,000, it's very sluggish during playback with my workstation. Under Project Settings / Simulation / Scene, Device is already set to GPU. It says Compute Device is "0: BusID 1 : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER"
What could be going wrong here?

Hi understanding-general,
Your hardware, based on the comparison of the card used in this great tutorial, should be twice as fast.
Yes, I got input from the developer and Noseman to answer your question. (We help each other at Maxon in a wonderful way)
The best idea, as I missed it in the tutorial as well, which might give the answer, is that Noseman switched to Shot after 00:53 [min:sec], which changes the outcome tremendously.
I hope that will answer your question and keep the trust in your hardware and Cinema 4D intact.
Enjoy your nice set-up.
Cheers

Hi Dr. Sassi,
thank you so much for your speedy reply and answer. You guys are doing a fantastic job!
I think my system is currently misconfigured. searched a bit on reddit and I think my SSD might be sharing bandwidth with my graphic card. CPU-Z indicates under Graphic Interface, Current Link Speed is 2.5GT/s, although Bus is PCI-Express 4.0. Max. Supported is 16.0 GT/s.
Hope to fix this issue on my side. Still not entirely sure what's wrong yet.
Good day!

Thank you very much, understanding-general!
I have forwarded your feedback.
We are all certainly highly motivated to share and explore.
I hope you find the sweet spot for your machine. Fast response in your hardware is surely not only a timesaver, but I consider it the best support to learn new tools, as the feedback cycle is shorter (I started in the early '90s with DCC apps, and that was not the time for any kind of fast feedback So, I do like that you get the most out of your nice setup.
My best wishes
