Baking align-to-spline object not working
-
Trying to get keyframe data (for cineware in AE) from a null attached to spline with align to spline tag, with tag's position % slider animated over time. AE apparently can't read any PSR data when using the AtS tag. When i execute the Bake Object... command in the timeline, it only bakes the position slider % number...not the actual PSR data of the null. I think i have tried every permutation of the bake object's checkboxes to no avail...even tried baking another object to the tagged object with xpresso or constraints...same result. Converting spline to position track gets me the keyframes, but the timing not the same as the AtS tag. I promise i looked around for an answer. Thoughts?

Hi home-force,
Set the time slider to frame zero
With shift-c call up Cappucino (or in the main Menu> Animate> Cappucino)
Deselect the Scale checkbox; I assume you don't need it. Rotation perhaps also off if Tangent in the Align to Spline tag is not active.Null Must be active
Then, press Cappuccino> Start Realtime.
Click and hold on the axis of the Null (must be active), and hold until the timeline has played through once.Eventually, record frame zero manually.
External Compositing tag, or as it called now Render Tags> Cineware
Set the Save> Compositing Project File to Save and Include 3D Data
The data output will be along the render settings (frame wise).
I assume that import has worked before.I have done this workflow as usual with the current tools (thing might change) 2026.0.0 and Ae version 25.5.
Let me know how it goes.
Cheers

Thank you for taking the time to reply, home-force.
I'm glad that I provided you with the results you needed.
(I often you a child null with a little distance to produce a Rail Spline in a second go.)
My best wishes
