The paste feature is not working anymore with latest Illustrator.

I can paste into Illustrator from C4D but not vice versa.

I use this feature all the time I hope this is still supported 🙂

Any advice on this? Is anyone else having this issue?

        Hi briggs,

Thanks for your patience. This forum is supposed to be monitored by someone else. I'm jumping in just now, as two weeks is way too long for no answer.

        Please share your request here:
        https://www.maxon.net/en/support-center
        "The Share Your Idea"

If the Splines are flat in the XZ plane of the C4D space, they can be exported to a DXF file, which Illustrator can read.

When that file is placed into an Illustrator document, each vertice and every intermedia "point" will be a knot of the Illustrator path.

I haven't found a better way, considering ArtSmart Copy and paste in Ai is not working.

Sorry to have no better news.

        My best wishes

          Thanks Dr Sassi,

I am aware that there are a couple ways to get paths into Cinema, it's just copying and pasting is so much faster.
Thanks again, I hope this is resolved soon 🙂

          Cheers

            Thanks for the reply, briggs.

I'm glad you already knew "Plan B", and I'm sure I get your idea of how it should continue to work.
I tried to check if I could convert the Python script to v3, just in case it was old (v2.x), but I had no luck.

I checked if I could have an internal roundtrip inside Cinema 4D, copying and pasting inside the app. No luck.
This leads to the idea that it is not in memory at all. When I try to paste it into Ai, I get anything that was in my memory before my test.

            There's not much more I can do; I'm not a developer/coder here.

Sorry to be of little help here, if at all. But I will file a feature request.

I hope you take the time to submit your request to Maxon, and I wish many more do so as well. Yes, I think it is a vital roundtrip option, so I have no question about it.

            All the best
