(I don't seem to be able to post in any other category than this...)

      Hi everyone,

      Quick question:

When dragging a material from a scene into C4D's Asset Browser, the default behavior is to copy all textures used by the material into the database folder, as well as to change all texture references to point to these copied files. This is not what I want.

How do I config the Asset Browser to leave the material unchanged, so that it continues to use the textures in the asset folders (as specified under Preferences>Files)?

      Thanks!

        Hi GeMeMe,

Sorry to hear about the trouble. This is the forum to solve this, and an Admin will take care of it if the question is how to access the Q&A forum.

Yes, to be able to post here, the idea is to not require an access privilege.
This has led to a misuse of this forum.
Please clear your access problems first.

Please check the Texture Path in your scene. That would be my best guess. If you save your scene, use the Save with Assets. That should fix it to that point.

I hope you get access quickly, as answering here makes it nearly invisible for anyone with a similar problem.

        All the best
