When I create a Hair Object in Cinema 4D and, in the Generate tab, set the type to Instance and place my custom object (a cylinder) as the instance, everything displays correctly in the viewport. However, when I render with Redshift, both my object and the hair are rendered.

Even setting the hair transparency to 100% and applying my custom material doesn’t prevent both the hair and the instance object from rendering together. Disabling hair in the render settings also turns off the render for the instance object.

Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?!

      Hi external-competition,

Please have a look at the file below:

I have set the Hair to yellow, while my target was to have the Cylinder in red with an RS material.

      Is this working for you?

Thank you for the advice; I found how to fix it. In the Generate tab of the Hair Object, you need to uncheck Render Hair and check Keep Texture to apply your own material with the necessary maps.
