Hey all I'm trying to create a particular (no pun intended) look in after effects. Basically a sphere which looks like the attached but animates. I want the spheres circle shapes to conform to the surface of a sphere and to flock and flow in waves across the surface. I've been playing in particular trying to get this effect but so far no joy. Anyone with any ideas? Any help would be much appreciated.

      Hi pause-video,

This looks like a mixture of Ae and RedGiant.

      The Bokeh,
is Ae-based, and the particle movement (if I understand your ID correctly) is, of course, from the Particular Settings.

If you have problems getting the camera to produce DOF/Bokeh, check if Comp-Settings> 3D Render> Classic 3D is enabled to enable this option.

Please always paste the full URL into the forum. It is now HTML code-based. Thank you. People need to know where they are clicking.

I'm not clear about flocking and spinning around, Anything you can use from the Motion Presets. Perhaps a light source might help?

P.S.: Here is a little idea. The animation is based on an obj sequence, created in Cinema 4D

Adjust the DOF parameters to your liking in the Ae Camera.

Thank you very much for the kind feedback, pause-video,

I checked more sources to see if there is a revolving around a sphere while holding a relative sphere's pattern simultaneously, but I couldn't find any.

I hope this option shared above will help.

            Cheers
