        Hi Jochen,

        Inside Trapcode Particular, you have the following options.

        Besides that:
        If I understand your question correctly, if you like to use a mask, set up a solid on top of the Layer that has Trapcode Particular and use in that new Layer any mask you like to have, then connect it to the Particular Layer, (Track Matte)
        Alternatively, Pre-Compose it, then use a mask in the new Composition.
