P.S.: here is a very procedural version.

The "hair" is just sketched on the Plane, with the Spline Sketch, while Snapping is set to Polygon only.
It has some set up work, but is super fast.

The scaling of the "hair" is based on the rail-spline set up, closer to the spline inside the vacuum.

The silly vacuum-cleaner-model is without any function, just to demo the scene.

      Enjoy

        Thank you ever so much.
They give me a great starting point, The last version is fantastic.
I'll have a play with it and see if I can get it to wrap round a brush roller.
That's very kind and super helpful.

Thank you very much, Instruction dance,

The two spline paths need to shape the brush roller. I have no data on it.

If there is any sketch that doesn't violate perhaps an existing NDA, I'm happy to look in the morning. (I'm on Pacific time)

Enjoy the exploration, and please feel free to ask. I'm happy to look into it.

          Cheers

            Hi Dr Sassi
Again many thanks for looking at this.
Without breaking the NDA I've attached a very rough hoover head with the final products roller.
My client has asked me to show the difference between a Vacuum cleaner head with hair wrapping around the roller and a version with anti hair wrap tech that stops this happening. All well beyond my current skills!
            Many thanks again Nick

              Hi Nick,
I fear the file was larger than 1MB, leading to an error.

Would you mind sharing it via WeTransfer, Google, Dropbox, Adobe, or Apple cloud services? Please upload unzipped and share the URL without using the HTML wrapper. Thank you.

              All the best

                Hi Dr. Sassi
Here's a Wetransfer link to the file.
                Many thanks Nick

                  Hi Nick,

                  Thanks for the file.

I do not know how the brush rotates on this model. Let's say I look from the side, so the handle is on the right and the "head" on the left, is clockwise or counterclockwise?

If counter clock, the project file from above should do. If it brushes against the forward motion, it needs an adjustment.

My current main concern is, there is a spiral brush on the rotating cylinder. Typically, those move very fast, but with the animation, it might be slowed down to showcase the workings of it. If so, the spiral would attack anything on the floor at different times, while the vacuum effect would blend that effect and soften the resulting changes based on it. Is this part of the visualization?

Here is a demo of that expected influence to the dirt. Just to get a clear idea what is needed

P.S.: here is a demo of the rolling brush effect on the hair (no brush included), considering that the brush takes it one rotation with it. Perhaps not even more than a 90º rotation, but to go full in…)
The change of "size" (from floor into the tube) was a little bit tricky, but the PoseMorph helps to keep it parametrically. Adjust the Pose strength, and you get a finer tube suck effect. The second Field is a very rough idea to mimic the brush attacking the floor in a spiral. The reason I believe the spiral is introduced is more to keep the power needed to rotate it evenly. If the brush were parallel to the axis, the driver belt would get short stress moments at high frequencies. Perhaps I missed a point here, but that is my best result. Hence, the little disturbance should be enough.
