Shadow Catcher Working for Shadows but Not Reflections
-
Hello guys, I’m trying to create a jewelry render with an infinite white background and floor that shows both reflection and a subtle shadow underneath. For this, I need a transparent background so I can add the white background later in After Effects.
However, the shadow catcher isn’t working properly in my case — it only catches the shadows, not the reflections. I’ve tried several workarounds, but none seem to work. I also tried using the Matte Shadow Catcher material, but it didn’t give good results either.
Can anyone help me figure out what I might be doing wrong?

Hi figure-summer,
This Site Issue forum is for questions like, "Why can't I access the Q&A Forum?".
In the first year of version four of this forum, we handled that more loosely, but after that year, to keep the forum organized, that is no longer the case.
For questions, please share an example file with the problem.
If I see it correctly in you images, why do you have switched off Use Secondary Rays?
The shadow is colored to demo it.
