Bind CMD + ALT + LMB to pan the view port
-
In Cinema the ALT key can pan, rotate and dolly in the viewport. But to pan its ALT + MMB . And MMB on a scroll mouse is the cumbersome Scroll wheel click.
Is there a way to map CMD + ALT + LMB to pan the view ?

Hi family-flow,
Would holding down 1 work for you? This is the standard hotkey for that.
2 is for "scale," and 3 for rotation. Very simple and fast.If you like to change most shortcuts, us the
Main Menu> Window> Customization> Command Manager
(I'm aware that you know the command manager, but I write in a forum.)If you like to use the one you mentioned, you must find something else for the Orbit shortcut. See Image.
If you come from another application, use the native Cinema 4D. If you freelance or have to jump in somewhere, individual shortcuts will take some time to set up, IMHO. Perhaps new to Cinema 4D might require different translation shortcuts while watching tutorials. Typically the idea is to record tutorials with default settings. Customizations are slowing down during that time. Anyway, do what feels best to you, of course.
As usual, I have tested everything I mentioned on the current version (2023.1). Things change, and I try not to answer from memory.
All the best

Thank you. Got it working.
I had no idea it was Called "Move Camera Hotkey" in Command Manager, I kept searching for Pan Camera and found nothing. I had remapped 1, 2, 3 to point, edge and polygon mode because of my muscle memory from blender. Orbit Camera with CMD + ALT + LMB rotates the view like when using trackball rotation, which for me is very weird, now I have to use reset to default view . Also its centre of rotation is fixed to the transform axis of the selected object.
Remapped ALT + LMB - Move camera, ALT to orbit Camera and ALT + RMB to zoom to the point of first click.
One other related question, CMD key turns the Cursor into the Copy Icon (Pointer with 2 squares) which happens when the CTRL key is pressed. (that allows to quick copy an object in viewport) Is there a way to disable this functionality of the CMD Key in cinema ?

Thanks for the feedback, euro-family-flow,
I searched last night, but when it moved closer to midnight, I thought to give it a spin this morning. But I can't find an option to shut this off.
Perhaps there is one, and if so, the support is normally known for knowing those more secret little things.
