Cineware with a target camera?
Cineware (AE) doesn't seem to work correctly when using a C4D camera with a target tag.
I've inherited a project which must have used it previously, but the rotation is keyframed on a single node AE camera. I can't find a way to do that.
Anyone know what I'm missing?
Thanks in advance!
It seems that -Bake Object- is the answer here, which is a bit of a pain, but there we have it. A workaround.
Thanks for your updating your question, Patrick.
If you have similar questions in the future, please, with project files, reduce the problem. It is not my way to say things about a setup without seeing it; there might always be many reasons why something isn't working. Thank you!
All the best
OK, I thought it was generic enough not to require that in this case. Any camera animated with a target tag won't import correctly into AE. If there's a way of doing that without baking it'd be handy to know.
Use the "aec" workflow. (I tested it this morning with 2023.2.2 and Ae 23.5.0. [Build 52]), and it considers the Up Vector of the target camera.
If you want to address that Cineware problem directly, please open a ticket; thank you
The two ways to get a camera into Ae:
Baking a copy with the keyframes and freeing the camera from the Target Tag connection seems the way to go.
Much appreciated, Dr S. Thanks for looking into it.
Thanks for your patience, Patrick, and thanks for the feedback.
