I'm not in the habit of working with quadrants. I prefer working with a single view and changing the camera's perspective through the "Cameras" menu in the viewport. The problem is that when working with very small objects and switching the view to Front, Left, Top, or whichever view, the zoom is reset, and your object becomes tiny on the screen. It's frustrating to have to reframe every time the view changes. This change should preserve the zoom/framing that was being used in the current view. That's how it works in 3DS Max. Am I doing something wrong, or is this the standard behavior?

      Cheers!

        Hi Ricardo,

        Please have a look here:
I have introduced some cameras, so each View is stored. Which also means you can have a left overview and a Left Detail view.

Besides, the shortcuts* S, O, and H are a big help after choosing a particular view without a camera, like Front. But the Camera View will change if you use them on a camera without keyframes.

*These shortcuts are listed in the Editor View> View list.

If you set up cameras for all views, this could be then saved as a Default Scene (New.c4d), which will open always with the content the scene had, while saved.

        All the best

          Hi Dr. Sassi,
Thanks for the workaround, but I think the developer should implement this correction. It will make users' lives easier. When you model with only two views side-by-side, you are constantly changing to top, left, front, etc. So every time you reframe the object, even though shortcuts can help, it is an extra step. Is there any session where we can ask for improvements?

            Hi Ricardo,

I can see that your workflow will improve things.

Typically, I make a lot of suggestions, but most of the time, if no one asked for it, other things with more requests view the "Share Your idea!" will be on top of the list.

I encourage you to send this idea to Maxon.
I will create a feature request internally.
