Issue with UVW Texture properly wrapping around curved edge
-
I am having some issues trying to design a vinyl wrap I'm working on trying to pre-vis for some products I'm designing packaging for. I am trying to apply a simple texture to a UVW selection where my decal would be applied, but for some reason, when I try to apply the texture, using UVW or Cubic projection gives me similar results where things dont wrap properly and are getting cut off on the curved surface of my model. What am I missing? Screenshot and project file attached.
Here is the project file -
Hi wrap-bus,
Thanks for the project file.
Here is your file back; place it in your folder so it can find the textures.

I used the selection for the label and then used the UV Edit> UV Transform and positioned it. The Points in the Middle needed a little nudge to center the "back".
To place the texture, I used the two holes as orientation.I also set all the parameters from the material Tag back to the default; they were all over the place.
My best wishes for your project

Wow, I can't tell you how thankful I am Dr. Sassi. I am new to UV wrapping process, and also I got this 3D model from a freelancer so I was not aware of the UV tags being all over the place, but I am very appreciative of your assistance and improvements. This will make this process much easier. I spent the entire day today trying to troubleshoot this and you saved me a lot of wasted time in the future.

You're welcome, wrap-bus; thank you for the kind reply!
Please let me know if there are any other questions, as I have focused only on the label for now.
Cheers

P.S.: I couldn't feel complete without checking the mesh of each object.
It is not difficult to say that the object has some problems.
So, I had some extra time this evening, and I loved using the new Normal Editing Tool on a typical project.I tried to get easy-to-reproduce solutions, e.g., with the ZRemesher. (Yes, sometimes the mesh density increases a lot. But the alternative would be to redo the objects.
Some surfaces found improvement with the new Normal Editing functions/tool.I do not say everything is now fine, but I'm sure it is better.

I hope that helps you to have success with your work.

You are a legend. I am such a novice when it comes to this, even though I've been using C4D, its always been in a bit of a rushed manner for specific creative needs (3D is not my main training), and C4D is amazing, but sometimes I feel like theres so much to know its hard to keep up. I am so appreciative.

Also, I have no idea where my username "wrap-bus" came from. I just updated my name in settings. Thanks Dr. Sassi!
