Reading Data from CSV / Scene Nodes
-
Hi,
i've got several wordclouds with hundereds of names to animate. Instead of copying every name to a text-object in cinema i would like to import the names via spreadsheet.
I found a great example with the "import data" node in the Scene Node system. Seems to work, but i am a t a loss as how to influence the generated Text objects with effectors and fields. I would like the text objects to behave like clones that i can wrangle around with mograph effectors, but they dont show up in the object manger at all. All my tries to add different nodes wont work as i wish. Can someone point me in the right direction? Here's the example file and my edited file.

Thanks for any help!

Help! The names just came in ... 500 people... Anyone??

Found a workaround...instead of trying with scene nodes i now paste the whole list in a text object and use Effectors on the Lines field tab there.

Hi search-prompt,
It's great that you found something that works for you.
I had to ask if there is perhaps something new to make that happen, but no external MoGraph Cloner will read the content of the Scene Editor. With this, the Fields question for this purpose was answered.
I hesitate to reply here, as it would look like production is ready and a must-have option.
So far, it is more for developers who might draw from their knowledge of Python to use this more graphical interface to set up fun-to-use Capsules.
When it goes mainstream, I will invest more time into it.
Thanks for your patience and openness to alternatives.
Perhaps tune in tomorrow to the Ask the Trainer show and place some of the questions there. I had a chat this morning with Noseman about it.
