Axis and Normal Alignment
-
I have a model exported from Revit where I'm unable to align the axis correctly with each object. I normally have to adjust the axis is some way, normally on the Y.
In this case, if I try to align the axis to object it won't be correct or sometimes won't align at all. If I try to align to a polygon normal it still won't align correct, often rotated in some way.
If I delete a polygon, recreate it and then use the axis center again it mostly works.
Is this somehow a Normal issue?

Hi smckenzie,
Depending on the format, you can swap the Z with the Y axis (+ or -) during the Import.
This should work. I have no data on what format you use to write it from Revit.
My best guess would be DXF or FBX

Since I do not know what you have, you could try Z, perhaps.
Here is your file back.
I used the Axis Tool and then moved all axes to its center (Enable Axis Modification [L]).

I have not aligned the rotation of the house, as that might be based on context. If you have a direct export from Revit, I'm happy to look into it.
All the best
