Lightening Bolts
I need to create some lightening bolts
I've tried using a tracer linked to a couple of objects but couldn't figure out how to get the branches of electricity coming off the main bolts.
I saw the new particle branching scene in the asset browser but don't know how to just get straight/jagged lines like in real life.
I don't have access to Maxon one, so can't use the Electric spline node.

RE: Hanging objects on cables
Thank you! So now I just need an object(s) attached to the second set of ropes (that are hanging from the main rope).

RE: Hanging objects on cables
I managed to get a rope attached to two objects but it doesn't stop bouncing lol. Also cant figure out how to then attach another rope to the first rope (which would then be attached to the light).

Hanging objects on cables
Hey All,
Looking for some guidance on how to hang objects on cables, in my case I'd like a string of Japanese lanterns connected to two poles

Axis and Normal Alignment
I have a model exported from Revit where I'm unable to align the axis correctly with each object. I normally have to adjust the axis is some way, normally on the Y.
In this case, if I try to align the axis to object it won't be correct or sometimes won't align at all. If I try to align to a polygon normal it still won't align correct, often rotated in some way.
If I delete a polygon, recreate it and then use the axis center again it mostly works.
Is this somehow a Normal issue?

Thank you as always - your infinite knowledge always amazes me

Convert opacity maps to actual Geo
I have a lots of tree assets that use opacity maps to cut out the cards (leaf placeholders). Is there a way to use the opacity map to change the original geometry from a flat plane into the actual shape of the leaf?
I'm aware Redshift uses the sprite node, but I was thinking for engines like Arnold where a lot of opacity maps slows it down.

RE: Spline Mask and sweeps on my!
Thanks for that. I had tried something like that previously but couldn't figure out how you could then sweep that along a path. Cloning it along a spline works until you get to the corners of that path.

RE: Spline Mask and sweeps on my!
That's pretty interesting. Trying to Boole those cylinders out of the swept profile but C4D doesn't like it, a lot of calculations I guess. Is there not a way to do this with a spline mask setup?
