    Hey there
I have a Toon Shader with a Base Tonemap driven by a Noise which give me stains on the surface. Now I'd like to draw a line (contour) around the stains.
I tried to play with the threshold of the contour .without success.🔒 Log in to view

Any hint how I could achieve it. What is driving the Contour? Is ist Geometry? so Only edges?

    See attached scene

    Thank you
    erwin

      Hi erwin,

I'm not aware that there is a specific parameter that would support this. At least the manual confirms my level of knowledge here 😉

However, please look here to see if that could work for your project.

I also tried having a second surface and using an Alpha/opacity option to create a Contour "situation," but it is not crisp.
I also explored to displace the surface to produce some information for the Contour, but that was not my liking.

      All the best

        Good Day Dr. Sassi
Das ist doch der hammer!! That looks great. Will try it asap on my Scene. Think that will do it

Meanwhile I also tried with displacement, but that was not working as needed.

        Thank you

              Hi erwin,

              Just WOW!

I have explored Anime and Manga for a while now (a massive pile of movies and books are the result of it, just to validate my WOW!)

Based on what I have researched of Japanese Studios in the past years alone, your work is surely on that level.

Thank you so much for sharing your work here. I saw that you even gave me credit—this very nice of you.

I hope you continue to explore and find more of those great results.

Vielen Dank! Thank you very much!

              My best wishes

P.S.: As you said on your site, you are looking for your style. Your explorations look great, and yes, what to pick and where to dive deeper into it… It will come!
