Infinity Mirror in Redshift
-
I am working on a project where I need to have an infinity mirror effect visible from one side of the mirror.
The idea is that the mirror the viewer is looking through should act as a one way mirror, but still allow the light through to show the infinity effect.
I've tried setting this up with a mirrored coated glass without much luck.
Does anyone have any tips? -
Hi physics-tank,
Please have a look here:
You need to dial in a higher number of
Render Settings> Redshift> Globals> Trace Depth: Combined and Reflection. Please note that an infinite Trace Depth is not an option by default, as it would render infinitely.
The settings to have the camera and the light "behind" the mirrors are inside the RS Render Tags.
Typically, the mirrors are not 100.00% parallel nor flat, and you get this "curve" Effect, more or less, in reality.
The best example is here
