    Hello
I'm trying to use a model downloaded from Turbosquid, which was apparently created in Blender.
When I bring in the 3d object into C4d I get some strange artifacts in the viewport and on render. Its almost as if the edges had some kind of toon shading applied. I tried adding phong shaders, but it doesn't seem to work.

This is what I see in the viewport

And this is what it should look like

I'd prefer not to learn Blender to render this 🙂

Thanks for any pointers on how to get a clear render on this..
    Thanks!

      Hi AlexC,

The Scene Scale is too small to get precise readings for the normal direction. The point distance is as small as 0.0001

      Do the following after loading:

      Attribute Manager> Mode> Scene> Scale:

That scales it up by ten.
Things should look "normal" for the Normals.
Eventually, click inside the Phong Tag on the Button: Create Normal Tag.

Now do the opposite for the scene scale to get the needed scale back, or stay in the ten times larger space (suggested, if possible)

Here is a single piece of it based on the procedure

I think that this model is way over the top, in terms of resolution. But if one likes to go very close…
If the textures are easy to re-apply, I would go with the Remesh Generator, and 25%.

I would delete the model URLs, as Turbosquid has perhaps ideas about sharing. Thank you for considering it.

      All the best
