when using a spherical field as a mask for the explosion, I'm getting unusual results. When the pieces of exploded cloth approach the edge of the spherical field, they kinda "snap* back toward the center, like it's colliding with the spherical field. I can't get a nice natural fall to the floor.
I've messed with numerous settings including the spherical field size and parameters, my simulation substeps/collision passes...can't seem to fix it.

Thanks for the great tuts!

Hi andy-dv,
I have not your file here; perhaps then I could be more precise. 9If it doesn't fit into the 1MB size here, please only Dropbox, Google, Apple, Adobe or Wetransfer cloud services. I will not touch anything else, as well not "tiny-URL" stuff. Thanks for understanding.
I do not answer from memory, as things might change from version to version, and I need to see a file before I can say something. Otherwise, it ends up in a guessing game, which I consider a waste of your time and not professional from my side to do.
Please have a look here; it is cached, so if you would like to explore it, clear the cache of the Cloth (Simulation) Tag.

Instead, I have tried to reproduce this.
The only time I had something that looked like bouncing back was when the Vertex Tags had the "Use Deformed Point" left checked. One suggestion: the field option in the Force field is one way. A similar (not identical, as it depends on the setup) way is to mask the field in the Object field.
I hope that helps
All the best

@Dr-Sassi Unchecking "Use Deform Point" fixed the issue. Thanks very much for your assistance

Thank you very much for your reply, andy-dv.
Have a great weekend

Hello @Dr-Sassi . At about 5:15, when I try to drag the Cloner (containing the arc spline) into the Fields, I'm only presented with "Point Object" or "MoGraph Object". Neither are giving me much luck.
Any suggestions? Thanks! Benjamin C4D 2024.5.1

Hi Benjamin,
Sorry about that. Place a Connect Object as Parent to the Cloner, then Drag the Cloner into the Vertex Map field. This should give you the Spline Option.
I checked this in 2024.5.1 and in 2025 while building the whole setup. ( I avoid answering from memory; as you noticed, things change.)If you encounter any problems, please let me know, and I'll be happy to look into them.
BTW, the "Use Deformed Points" (Vertex Map), seems to be flipped in 2025.0)
Enjoy

@Dr-Sassi Amazing. Thanks so much for the update! Right "Use Deform Points" is indeed flipped. Thanks for the confirmation.
Connect object worked for the slice field, but then the slice didn't stick to the sphere as it expanded.
I added a Freeze layer in the Slices Fields which worked well -- but then when I added the Mask to temper the Field Force, anything that went outside the mask recoiled, and headed back towards the center of the pumpkin. Any further advice?
Thanks again, Benjamin C4D2024.5.1
