Is there a way to use fields to trigger where and when particles are emitted along a spline? For example if I have a helix spline and I animated a box field to align to spline, and it starts at the bottom of the spline and moves to the top, can it control the particles to only be emitted when the box field passes through that area of the spline? Hopefully that makes sense. Thanks!

      Hi leininger609,

      Please have a look below.

This requires that the set-up is in Point Mode.
This creates a weird limitation, as it is per frame or per second, which means the emission per point.
      .
Points are essential for this to work fluently with fields. If you had only a few points, it wouldn't look very cohesive.
      .
For that, I have set up the next file, where the MoSpline can change the number of points for the Destination Spline (see HUD element)

Since you lose the emission rate switching to points, any work around to controlling how many particles are emitted?

            Thanks for the reply, leininger609,

This was the part of the suggestion in the …_11.c4d file. In the MoSpline, you can adjust the amount of points.
Is that ideal? I have filed a report about it already, unlike a parameter.
It works as long as it doesn't change the shape of the spline.

            All the best

thats brilliant. I thought at first it was controlling the points on the spline, not emission. Thank you!!!

                You're very welcome, leininger609.

Yes, it works for both; I hope it will enable you to find a sweet spot for your needs.

                Cheers
