I have a rather large project with loads of materials in it. Some duplicate and a lot of unused because I deleted a lot of objects.
Now in the material manager I try to delete the unused materials but this doesn't work. while I am 200% sure the materials are not used anymore.
      What could be wrong?

        Hi Dutchbird,

Do you have any Takes set up? Wild guess, and yes, I would love to see an example.

I have tried to produce any problem, but I cannot get your problem duplicated.

How about this idea? Please do that on a copy(!), as I have really no idea about your setup.

Copy everything from the Object Manager and paste it into a new file. Select all materials in the Material Manager from each file 9old and new) and compare the numbers.
This would be a clear hint of what is not used.

You can sort those (A-Z) in the list view and quickly see what is different. If you find an unused Material, check its Assign field. When it is empty and will not be deleted by "Delete Unused Materials," check with tech Support.

Again, test things with Copies only.

Please let me know your findings.

        Cheers

          Hi Dr.Sassi,

It was the takes that caused the problem.
          Thanks.
