      Hi again DR Sassi,

I've hopfully got 1 last question about liquids for you!

I'm trying to pour some icecream onto a plate by swirling an emitter.

It works ok, but do you know if theres a setting I can use to make the stream of icecream keep its shape better? The emitter is a star shape and I'm trying to get that classic soft-serve icecream look, not a big blob like Im currently getting.

Here's my attempt so far: https://we.tl/t-eI5ILJ20ZN

      Thanks again!

        Hi MaverickMongoose,

        Thanks for the file

The idea of painting with particles or fluid, like "drawing" a soft ice cream cone, that doesn't melt or move, can have different influences. The balance is then a question of what your project needs.

When you use a "normal" particle emitter for the production of such a shape, they do not have the distance a Fluid Emitter might have. Hence, when you enable the Liquify object, it has a Liquify> Liquify> Constraints> Ease in parameter. Set this one ridiculously high when you don't need any real fluids.

To set the Gravity in the simulation setting to low helps.

You can take the Velocity out of the particles with the Data Mapper.
What Velocity amount should the Color Mapper show you with a gradient (Velocity to Color), like a heat map?
The ice-cream can later on be blown away by a Force> Wind, the Velocity can be added again.

The Viscosity settings in the Attribute Manager> Simulations were discussed in The Syrup/Waffle shows by Elly.

        I hope that helps.

The example has the particle amount set low. I have also sorted the Object Manager, top to bottom, which is the main information flow, if not overwritten by some other settings.

Perhaps explore caching before using Liquify.

        Cheers
