      Hey Everyone!

Messing around with the new pyro stuff and loving it. I'm wanting to have smoke rise up from the bottom of a screen and form into words for a second or two, then dissipate. It's relatively easy to use the text as a volume emitter and to form the text in place, then have it dissipate, but I'm having trouble figuring out having the smoke form into the letters.

I've tried messing around with attractors and field forces with no luck, but my understanding of how those simulation forces work is not that deep. Has anyone figure out how to do this yet?

        Hi fact-marketing,

        Please have a look here:
        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_c-mARL7JNA

A project file with one letter set up:
        CV4_2024_drs_24_PYle_01.c4d

To have it fade away, check also this one here:

As everything relies on fuel, fading some out removes the supply.

        All the best

Thank you for your help, Dr. Sassi! I am diving into the project you sent and dissecting it now. It looks like you're using a spline as fuel, which is an option I hadn't considered, so I'll explore that.
Both the youtube links you included are about creating Pyro killboxes, is that what you meant to send for both of them?

Thank you for your reply, fact-marketing.

Yes, in both videos, the kill box based on geometry allows you to "delete" the Pyro-based shape outside the letters while dialing (animating) in how much.
This might allow for more artistic adjustments, as the letters can be created not only based on shape but also by changing the values of the Kill box, meaning they appear perhaps less unpredicted and create more visual impact—just an idea.

If you are less interested in the Kill setup options, please explore this:

            My best wishes

Thanks for the feedback and fac-marketing; going by your initial post, I would not have considered this one.

I'm glad you found it helpful, and Noseman's content is always worth watching.
                Here is more about Pyro:

You will see on the title cards what handles Pyro. I hope the timestamps help you to go through that material quickly.

                Enjoy!
