      Hello.

Dr. Sassi asked me to post a new thread if it's a new topic.I'm not sure this qualifies, because it's a continuation of another matter. But I always do what Dr. Sassi says! 😉

Anyway, the corn now conforms properly to the land, via the Displacer, as the land is the object of the Object setting in my Cloner Object.

However, I'd like to make the corn into rows. If I change to Grid I lose my Object conforming.

How do I make the corn into rows, and still have them conform to the land?

Here is both jpg, and the file.

        Thanks for playing, black-internet.

As an artist, it is no pleasure to put any rules into this world, but for a long time, I have had the honor to test many methods. Keeping threads to a single theme with a clear headline works best (for most). The idea is typically, one is close to a deadline and then needs a solution. Reading through long, endless back-and-forth replies with many different themes is not what works well.

We have also tried Hashtag words, but the statistics show they are rarely used. So, thank you for being open to this.

        You project:
The simplest way to get both would be to place the wanted information into the mesh with the Displace attached, then set the segments to the number of Clones you had and the clones to Vertex in the Cloner.

        CV4_2025_drs_24_MGse_21.c4d
        Place it into your folder.

(The exact numbers here would be one segment less than needed as a segment has 2 points, or ten segments 11 points in one direction. You pick.)
One advantage of this Plane-based solution is that the axis of the objects is "planted" at the exact heights of the displacement.

If you tell me more, I'll be happy to look at how to solve it.

        Thank you again.

        Enjoy your project

@Dr-Sassi That worked, and makes perfect sense.

And I totally hear you about a deadline being close, and a solution is needed. That's exactly where I am right now. It's a pain to search thru those endless back-and-forths in hopes of finding an answer.

Great to talk to someone that gets that.

Thanks, as always, for your knowledge and real world wisdom.
