Applying Mixamo Control Rig to Mixamo Character in C4D

I have followed the steps to connect a character I’ve downloaded from Mixamo to the Mixamo joint rig. (I’ve followed the ‘Enhanced Character Animation with Mixamo in Cinema 4D R21’. Link here : https://www.schoolofmotion.com/blog/enhanced-character-animation-mixamo-cinema-4d-r21

However, when I try to transfer weights to the joints to the Mixamo Control Rig by dropping the character mesh into the Weight Tags field, I cannot do this, and a stop sign shows on my mouse cursor. Can you help me with this?

I have done it each time I get this question about whether a new version is available. So tonight, with 2025.1.3. I have used this workflow, I guess, 100+ times by now, at least.
It works fine as long as you go with the exact steps. A little derivation and it might fail! Watch the Quick Tip, write each step-down, and compare these notes; I can't tell how often these steps were not followed, and frustration was produced otherwise.

What sometimes is in the way when a Mixamo FBX rig uses Takes? Go to Takes> Select the Mixamo Take, and right mouse clicks "open Take in new Project".
I assume that is the biggest problem over the years.

The automatic works also only if the rig of Mixamo is named correctly; this is not sometimes given with older files.
