In my default scene I see the word "Standard".
I don't know where it came from and I can't get rid of it.
I unchecked everything in the HUD configuration Tab but only Standard is still there.
I can move it with the option key selected, thats all.

        Hi Dutchbird,

Which version do you use, and what layout have you switched on?

Call up a new project, leave it empty.
Can you Control or Command - click on it, and get a menu like the one below.
If so, use Remove, then go to Window>Customization and Save As Default Scene.
In the upper right corner, Save as Start-Up Scene; if you already have one, use a "Save Layout As…"

I have not seen the "Standard" in the middle before, nor can I remove any HUD.

Let me know how it goes

        Enjoy your Sunday

            I'm glad it worked.

            Cheers
