Redshift render takes too long?
-
Hello Dr.Sassi!
I've been using C4D for modelling and UE5 to make a game, and some ocasional animation.
I have been using C4D more than 10 years ago for animations in videos (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iv-Rz3-s4BM&t=258s)
It's been like 3-4 years I think haven't use it for rendering. Now I'd like to do some animations, learning Redshift. However I find the render times are too long! I have a Macbookpro 16" M2MAX with 64 GB RAM. I'm enclosing you a superbasic scene that Redshift took to render 5 minutes! I can't work like this. Please tell me what the problem may be? Perhaps my computer is not enough powerful? Unreal Engine 5 has a very fast render. Thanks for your help in any case

1 frame took 5 minutes had to stop rendering! I used Arnold two years ago and went way faster

Hi Capprim,
Thanks for the file. I am currently at the Maxon Summit and can't look into your file before next week. This is just a wild guess (as you might know, I don't like to do this, as it might waste your time; sorry about this). Please start the render; ignore the first time. When the image starts to render, or if it is done, render again. The initial processing of all textures, etc, takes time. This is a process to optimize the data.
Perhaps check with tech support, but many of them are also here, so please allow some time. Sorry for the delay. (Typically I answer even during my time off, but this week is packed, of course all to make everything better.)

Again, sorry for this delay.
All the best

Hi Dr.Sassi! Today I applied Denoising in the Render settings. One frame took 1 hour! This is impossible to work with. By the way this part is not urgent, don't worry about a quick reply.
