Trying to create a scene with point clouds from a pre-existing asset. Using attom array or cloner, I am able to get the spheres on the points of the object but how do I then transfer the object's color data to these points? Trying to get something like the pic below.

        Hi savings-chest,

        Please have a look here:

Sphere Size and Bloom can be adjusted of course, over the top here to make a point.

Is this working with your data? I have nothing from your side to explore it, so it is hard to tell. I love project files to answer here.

        All the best

@Dr-Sassi Thank you so much for your reply! I sadly keep getting "failed to allocate necessary gpu recyclable memory. Aborting the render" even after having reduced all CPU, GPU memory settings. Perhaps you could tell me the steps I can take to go in this direction. I have a model with 5 colors on it and I want that color data to transfer to my point cloud.

            Hi savings-chest,

Not my favorite line to share: Have you restarted Cinema 4D?

When I get this line, I have found no better way than this. Perhaps Tech Support can give you a better answer while having more specs from your setup. Nothing that I am supposed to do here.

            .

I dragged the Point-could object into the Matrix Object.

The Vertex Color went into the Shader Effector> Fields
The Shader Effector> Parameters> Colors: Fields Colors

The Shader Effector goes then to the Matrix Object
The Matrix Object receives and Redshift Render Tag, set to particles: Sphere Instances

The RS Material needs a User Data Color, while the Input Attribute is set to RSMGColor (Use the Preset button for this)
The Matrix Object gets this RS Material

Set up a Light and camera to your liking
            Save early, save often

            .

Perhaps try it with a small object first.

Please, let me know how it went.

            Enjoy

I am getting an all black point cloud with my object but the file you sent had a torus which had a red, green, yellow field. Is that the UVW mapping or was your material red, green, yellow?

                Hi saving-chest,

The colors come from the Vertex Tag.

                https://help.maxon.net/c4d/2023/en-us/Default.htm#html/TVERTEXCOLOR.html

I do not have your file here, so I can't tell what is happening on your side.
How did you create the file, where did you get it from, and what does the color have as its origin?

                Cheers
