Convert C4D materials to RS

My materials had no textures in it but had a standard grey plastic material.
But I fixed it.
I installed Redshift via the Maxon app that f**ed up my Redshift.I reinstalled Redshift via the installer from the website and everything is OK now.

It happend again. When I open Cinema4D and try to switch to Redshift nothing happens. It happened before.
So I open the Maxon app and I have to repair it each time I open it.
I did.
Opened Cinema4d again, switch to Redshift try to convert a meterial to redshift and the turn out grey again.
What can possible go wrong.

The problem only got bigger.
Tech support send me a deep clean script for the Maxon App.
The script however deleted my complete /Library/Preferences/Maxon folder.
Inside this folder were all the prefs, shortcuts, scripts, templates and prefs of earlier versions with plugins to open older C4D files.
I had no backup because of TimeMachine issues.
It will take me a day or more to set things up with no compensation of tech support at all, only a sorry for the bad script and find a solution yourself.
I am a freelance designer woking with Cinema4D since R8.5 and today I have a big headache.My advice, don't use scripts from tech support.
Shame on you Maxon. Next month I have to pay €599 for my yearly subscription. This hurts.

That is not fun at all. I'm sorry to hear it. I had my fair share of those situations in the past three decades of working digitally. Never lovely; no one enjoys this!
Yes, I will talk to someone about this in tech support so they give a document with the side effects of the treatment that they shared in the future. This needs to be known.
So, let me open this can of worms, as I'm used to it ;-), which is also what I would ask any friend of mine with that kind of description: (I assume you know all of that, but just in case)
Your Time Machine is not working; Redshift is not working: What else? (Rhetorical question).
Could it be that something bigger is happening that needs a more global inspection? Apple has remote checks for computers; try it. Back up first.
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202731I do backups manually, not compressed; yes, it takes way more space. But with a Harddrive being around $20/TB, that is not a thing I would think about for a second. For the internal backup, I use an SSD with 2.8 Gb/s; it is super fast—nearly no interruption. Yes, Timemachine is more comfortable.
Something is off, and Disk Utility should be used to see if there is something with your drives. Again, I'm not supposed to give tech support here, so I have already said too much.

If my TimeMachine was working it wasn’t a big deal.
I just formatted the drive because it had issues. I was just up and running when I used the script.Everything’s working with a brand new Maxon prefs folder.
Luckily the R19 registration files were outside that folder.Redshift doesn’t convert materials as it supposed to. Every material is a grey shiny plastic.

So even after formatting the drives and installing the new apps, that problem persisted?
Again sorry. But I have the feeling anything I share is not working for you.
So far, I have not seen the Materials you use; from experience, I know it is limited—layered materials in Reflection, for example.

I fixed the Redshift issue.
Reverted to v3.5.16 and everything is working as expected. -
