I'm modeling a simple mug cup using "Spline."
I used "Lathe" and "Cloth Surface" for thickness.
But when "Subdivision Surface" is applied it creates a hole.

I wonder whether there is way to fix the issue.
I attached screenshot and c4d file.

Thank you for your time and help.

        Hi leoleeCGI,

        Thanks for the Project file.

        Please have a look here:

I have added a Connect Object with a minimal tolerance. This connects the created points and merges them into one (or one outside, one inside, to be precise), so the SDS doesn't pull those apart, no hole.

Besides that, I have added a small suggestion on how that shape can be achieved very quickly.

        All the best

P.S.: Instead of Cloth Surface, try also Thicken, especially since the Selections are great for using different materials.

            Hi Dr.Sassi

Thank you very much for your response and your project files!
I didn't know about the "Connect" and "Thicken" tool. It's great to learn about it. Thank you again!

Thanks for the kind reply, leoleeCGI.

Thanks a swell for being open to exploring.

The Connect object tries to find points close to each other, sometimes leading to unwanted results. To be able to rule over this, the Tolerance value is crucial.

              Have a great weekend.
