Hi, I have been to a great popconcert where I saw these beautiful laser lights!
I tried to create that same laser effect in Cinema, but I am not sure how to do it.

Initially I though to put a light in a closed cube with only a small hole in it.
That works for a single spot light with a very small beam.

If I use a area light (a rectangle) and put it in that same closed cube with the whole, I expect to see a small but broad beam of light.
But that does not seem to work.

      What am I doing wrong?

      Regards,
      Pim

        Hi Pim,

        Please have a look here.

Your scene was set up with the Standard render. Render to Picture Viewer to see the result.

To get the typical laser light, I have used a specific Motion Blur. See image.

There is a second light if you like to have more impact on the surfaces

Let me know if that is working for you.

My best wishes for your project

Beautifull. Long render times, but I decreased the number os samples in Sub-Frame Motion Blur.
          Thank you.
