This kind of plugin would be super useful

Hello
I've been struggling with proper projector visualization work in C4d for years, and recently discovered this for Blender
https://github.com/Ocupe/ProjectorsWould anyone be interested in making this for C4d?

Hi AlexC,
Thanks for the link; I will forward this.
Typically, this would be my approach, as in the past
https://stcineversityprod02.blob.core.windows.net/$web/Cineversity_Forum_Support/2023_Clips_DRS/Camera_Mapping_60sec.mp4With Redshift, it is easy to set up a Light material, use the scale and offset to set the image into the middle
https://stcineversityprod02.blob.core.windows.net/$web/Cineversity_Forum_Support/2023_PROJECTS_DRS/20231212_CV4_2024_drs_23_TXcp_01.zipBut yes, having that all wrapped up in a proper interface would be nice.
Cheers

Thank you Sassi!
You have helped me many times over the years with this type of task, and I often go back to these techniques you shared, but as you said, it would be good to have this all wrapped up in a tool.
There are issues of blending, luminance calculation, aspect ratios, etc...if someone could just enter all this data into a simple UI and see a result on some geometry, it would really be super duper helpful. Thanks again!

Thanks for the kind feedback, Alex.
It is, as before, one of my favorite themes and any kind of projection! I love this work.
A complete projector simulation might also include the F/value of the used lens.
This always goes hand in hand with the surface it is screened on.If the projector is not axial to the screen, that might require some extra care.
In my color training (Color Grading and Color Science) over the years, I learned that Cinema Theater has 48 Nits*, whereas HDR TV screens are between 600 and 4000 Nits, with an average of 1000 Nits. Yet the *Theater often looks more impressive and tends to increase slightly to cover the HDR dynamic.
The main reason is that the larger the screen and the darker the room, the more the impression is given that it is very bright. That calculation might not find its way into the plug-in.I write about that, as often a precedent is put into one's contract, and the reality might be different; for those cases, I would like to share my expectation management here.
I hope you have a great Holiday Season and enough exciting challenges with your work.
