Redshift baking doesn't work
-
I was following a tutorial about baking textures and export them to .glg/.gltf to embed the model on a website.
I followed all instructions but when I hit the Bake button nothing happens .
Could someone look into this?https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/bfsalpmrs4v3tc3exoow1/bake-test.zip?rlkey=8mdy1ejiikjci8m8gw2qi2225&dl=0
By the way. I followed this tutorial.

Hi Dutchbird,
Thanks for the file.
Please load this file into Cinema 4D after unzipping.

Is this working for you?

It does. Thanks.
But I don't understand why I can't Bake myself.
When I hit the Bake button, nothing happens. -
Hi Dutchbird,
I have tested it excessively this morning, and my results are that it won't work if UVs are on top of each other or outside of the UV square 0-1.
It should work if set to UDIMs, but that is another story and not my scope right now. I need more time for that to file a report.Since they are 8-bit images*, creating a single UV with the above qualities is work but possible.
The key technique here is that the Texture needs to be Remapped.
https://help.maxon.net/c4d/2024/en-us/Default.htm#html/11664.html#PLUGIN_CMD_170221*Please note that Remap works only flawlessly with 8bit/channel images.
The number of polygons will take a while to process. My suggestion, try baking with a single cube first, then increase the complexity.
All the best

Thanks a lot for all the trouble.
I will dive into some UV Mapping tutorials.
The file I shared was just for testing. -
Thank you very much for your reply; no trouble at all, Dutchbird.
The manual doesn't share much about troubleshooting, so it is worth exploring deeper for the forum.
Thanks for your question
Cheers
