Spline Mask and sweeps on my!
-
I've created a soffit roof panel that needs to be swept along a path of the roof outline. The model is made up of a sweep and spline profile along with cloner objects booling out geo via a connect object.
Because of this, I can't figure out how to sweep the the end result around the path.
It's been a long day so my apologies if I'm missing something obvious.

Hi smckenzie,
Thank you very much for your file.
Some fine-tuning might be needed, but I assume the process works.
I created a spline with a distance of 12 cylinders (one line), which I swept and used as Edge to Spline.
This spline is then used to clone the cylinders to the Profile. Here is your file back.

That's pretty interesting. Trying to Boole those cylinders out of the swept profile but C4D doesn't like it, a lot of calculations I guess. Is there not a way to do this with a spline mask setup?

Hi smckenzie,
Here is an example of how to create those elements with the holes.
Cheers

Thanks for that. I had tried something like that previously but couldn't figure out how you could then sweep that along a path. Cloning it along a spline works until you get to the corners of that path.

Thanks for the reply, smckenzie,
Sweeping is an "extrusion" along a path, not a "cloning" along a path.
Perhaps you set up a Plane and use that as a clone matrix, etc.
An example is here:

Switch all object to active.Have a great weekend.
