how would one do something like this (eyelids\nearby muscles of the face follow the eye direction)?

      https://80.lv/articles/a-realistic-eye-rig-made-by-yoshimitsu-maruo/

      like in twitter vid

I managed to dig out this ancient tutorial for C4D https://www.cineversity.com/vidplaytut/eyeball_and_eyelid_interaction

but it's so obsolete current cinema doesn't even have weight effector. there must be some new workflow that I'm unable to find online.

How do people learn these skills...? Solely from seniors if they get to work for some company? are there any high quality advanced in-depth paid tutorials for rigging\skinning in C4D? I did search but found nothing, mostly just very simple stuff and 90% rigging tuts are for maya or blender.

        Hi Kriisp,

        https://help.maxon.net/c4d/2024/en-us/Default.htm#html/OFALLOFFOBJECT.html

The Weight Effector was based on Falloff, and since we have Fields instead, things have changed. It might sound confusing, but since the Falloffs are no longer available and have been replaced with Fields, the Weight Effector is now called Falloff.

I'm unsure if the manual gives full instructions, and I have some resistance here to get it working as in the tutorial. But before I let you wait much longer, I wanted to answer. I will file a report.

The tutorial does not go deeper into the head's weight and how things would work for a complete character. This needs to be updated anyway.

        All the best

Alright thank you for the answer.

but looking at the example I posted above: https://80.lv/articles/a-realistic-eye-rig-made-by-yoshimitsu-maruo/
          or this top-level stuff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueYtM2KprqY

notice the way eyelids and area around the eyes reacts to moving eyeball direction. I just can't get this in cinema, I tried with a eye rig and posemorph... and I've been searching for weeks and found 0/ZERO tutorials on this, paid or free.

So I'm left wondering is advanced face rigging like in the examples even possible in Cinema4D?

            Hi Kriisp,

You said you have seen all on Cineversity Rigging, so I feel limited in suggesting anything. However - please have a look at Face-Rig here: 04:35 [min:sec]

              Hi Kriisp,

I had to explore it a bit deeper, but I hope I have a very adjustable solution: Muscle.

              Please have a look here.

This looks like a great solution.

I have been using a Cluster added to the lid geometry that has a constraint on it to follow the eye control and gives a very similar look.

Hi Dan, thanks for sharing your idea.

Yes, there are many ways to go; as usual, what is the easiest during the animation phase is what I would pick, so the expression has the main focus.
I think having many options is a great idea, and then picking the best for the current project.

                  Enjoy!

Edit: there is and Eye Rig in the Asset Browser /edit
