Hey everyone - I've recently received a CAD file that has 40 polygons within a null and there are potentially 200 Nulls. Is there an easy way to have all the null objects 'connect + delete while keeping all nulls separate? so - just all the polygons within that null are connected into individual objects. Each object needs potential different things to happen so I don't want them all combined, just the polygons within.

      Thanks!

        Hi river-prior,

Typically, that should be done while exporting from CAD to have layers or materials as grouping information.

The only way would be if these objects are on the same Layer or have the same material as a grouping indicator; then, the Connect function might work.
Since this is a function for Archicad, explore this with a copy first, as I have no idea about your file.

Besides that, there is no material share or Layer organization:
That would be a feature request:

Perhaps someone has written a plug-in for that, but I'm unaware.

          Hi Dr.
So, your comment is what I was thinking as well. The export is what got me. No Worries then, I won't have time for them to send another unfortunately.
Thank you for letting me know. I appreciate it.

          Shawn

            Hi Shawn,

I tried a similar scene (not knowing your setup). Placing those on layers was fast. (Select children and drag all selected to the new layer, or just "brush" the layer down for that group in the Object manager.

I could look into it if I knew more or had the file (Dropbox or Google, Apple, Adobe, Wetransfer, sorry, I do not touch anything else).

My best wishes for the project.
