Make cloth sim settle

Hi Dr Sassi,
Do you happen to know if there's a way to make a cloth simulation settle like you can do with a rigid body sim using DEACTIVATION?
I have a sim of gummy shapes falling but when they hit the ground they go on wiggling around forever.
I feel like I've tried about every setting now but I can't get them to lose energy, any ideas?

Thanks for the file.
I read the file as one opinion is expressed, then a torrent of replies is dumped. They have no long-lasting energy, so they just fall and are done.
.For your scene, the simplest way will be a change of timing, here to use Alembic and remap the time. I am slowing it down after the main impact. That might lead to "time banding," which could appear as little jumps. I assume that is a no-go, but I needed to mention it.
Perhaps even more straightforward is to use a "cut" after the main impact and then show that all the commotion has stopped from a different camera angle. (I do not believe in the one-shot-does-it-all idea, … most of the time).
.The main idea is that energy in the soft bodies needs to be drained to get your effect or that the material changes, like drying out.
The first one, as I saw in your file, is the dampening, which can be animated to "suck" smoothly nearly all energy out of the scene. This works well with a single major event that needs to be calmed down.
This can also be done with the Force> Friction, perhaps with Fields, which is more art-directable.
The Softness of the object allows for a lot of motion. Here, I would suggest stiffening it if that is the expression for the scene, hence my little intro how I understand it. There is an option to do that with a Vertex Map, and all the options with Fields are included (Inside the Vertex <Map.)
Here is a little example with a few of the methods mentioned.
Check the
Attribute Manager> Scene > Simulation> Dampening
Cloth Tag> Softness> Dampening> Map
(off in the file) Force> Friction(Yes, that is all over the top, for demo purposes of course.)

I tried tweaking those settings but it never really worked well (I guess due to the objects being too soft like you say) so I ended up changing the scene completely.
Hopefully Maxon adds a diactivation method for cloth in future updates though, that would be super handy.
Thanks again for your help though! Good to know about the Friction force, I'll be using that a lot more now!
