      Hi object-world,

My apologies. Reasons beyond fairness and reasonable behaviors forced this move. If we had time to plan it, I assume it would be less painful for anyone.

The people in charge made magic behind the scenes.

Anyway, I have requested the ones you mentioned so they get on top of the to-do list. While it might take some time

Again, I'm as upset about this as anyone else. But I was also amazed at what the team made possible.

I hope your input will show results quickly.

      I appreciate your interest

      Enjoy

Here is a form to request what is needed.

        https://forms.office.com/e/gr1QGLc4Ry

The form requests a URL, which you might not have right now. If Google didn't provide it: If you remember the presenter, the version, or the title, please put this in.

        Thank you!

@object-wood Yea... The new one isn't great. No Toolbox, Resources or Exclusive tutorials. May as well just use Youtube, now it's just a poorly organized list of videos.

Today I needed the "Rendering Non-Sequential Frame Ranges from Cinema 4D" tutorial and had to find an old Facebook upload.

The old version was far superior and actually added value.

            Hi ThomsonX,

That is the current impression here as well. Thanks for sharing.
Any constructive input is welcome. (OMG, that sounds so like a managed reply. I'm sorry if that comes across that way.)

Yes, I loved the previous one, v3, and it had a filter system that worked. I was not involved in designing v4 (the version here), so I'm not biased.

I wish Google would only be open to discussing features on YouTube ;-), e.g., allow for multiple sites to interact better, so we have more theme-focused sites and don't separate things too much.

            Thank you for your input.

            Have a great day.

                You're very welcome, ThomsonX.

Without listening with an open mind, we do not progress.

I hope we can do better … soon, but getting so much content re-organized is a lot of work.

                All the best

Hello, is there a way to find the old forum posts? I am looking for something you helped me with a while ago regarding wrapping splines on an object, but I can't seem to find any way to access these older posts?

                  Thank you!

                    Hi AlexC,

I have waited for a long time for the previous version of the forum to be accessible again. I miss it as well, it was mentioned that the admins/IT team is working on it. Yes, I also miss it, and it was not an easy decision, so far I can tell.
Everyone who asked something had shaped a Cinema 4D wiki-like content.

If you like, please open a new thread, and I look into it. Perhaps we can find something better with the growing toolset.

                    All the best

I have to add here that the current Cinversity site isn't that useful. There is good on content on there but finding it is a challenge.

Whilst the material added to YouTube from the Max Training team has some good topics, just wading through those videos is very time consuming. Typically they are at a minimum of an hour, often more. Personally I find the quick tip videos the most useful.

A little annoyance is that if you've searched for something and have paged through a number of results, say to page 9, if you then do a new search you are not returned to the first page of the new results, in this case, you would be still on page 9 of the new search results. Hope that makes sense.

                        Hi smckenzie,

                        Yes, yes and yes.

Sounds like my own list of things.

There was something we couldn't fight with the old Forum's software, at least not in time. So it needed to be closed down.
This has caused a lot of time investment to shuffle thousands of tutorials to the new site.

This was not planned, and we would have loved to invest the time in a better functionality instead.

For now, I hope my time stamps help everyone to find things faster on YouTube. I started out doing them live in real-time, only to see that I had to go through them again, to be precise. They are twice the running time to do if I also do a QA on each part and take notes about educational things.

I can't tell what will improve or when. I have some concepts in mind, but we have 10K of videos under the Maxon One umbrella, which is not something one can shuffle around or just renew without a solid strategy.

So, I get your impression of where we are and all the problems it sadly causes, but it needs some time to do it right. I hope my work in the Forum limits a bit of everyone's frustration. I have carefully listened to everyone for the past 18.5 years that I run the CV Forum (Q&A). Rest assured; I have a good memory and nothing else in mind for Cineversity to have a great learning experience and project support as far as possible.

Live shows tend to be longer, but I get your point. Please keep in mind that not everyone is searching for a quick fix. The beginner series often has 90-120 minutes per episode and counts viewing numbers in the top area. There is no one-size-fits-all.

I know you have seen a lot over the years here, so I hope that helps to see that things are changing, and everyone is changing on their own, which might get out of sync naturally at one point. But I hope we have shown that we can adapt. Fingers crossed, with all we have learned from everyone, we get the next iteration to be more what is needed and wanted.

                        Thanks for your input.

                        Cheers

Oh I get it, managing that much material which is constantly evolving is sure to be a challenge. I think it's great that the Maxon team are active and adding material.

If I could add a request it would be for more modeling tutorials, guides etc. For example if I search for "loft generator" on Cinversity there are only 10 results, and of those none are relevant. There is a great series on Cinversity by Edna all about Deformers, the same again about Generators would be great. For now, I'm stuck mooching around YouTube.

Although I've mentioned it before, you are an incredible asset. As I'm learning I often have specific questions that a tutorial just doesn't cover and I know if I post here you always provide a prompt solution which is invaluable to me. So again, thanks for your efforts.

Thank you for taking the time to reply, smckenzie!

Thank you for the kind feedback. 🙂

I believe we could triple the number of videos, and I'm sure (me included) would say, here is a gap, and there is one, etc.

I have been working on learning concepts for our industry; we will see how that goes. I can see what works and what fades in effectiveness. This needs an answer, and just producing more is not the solution.

Hence, your input is welcomed. Rest assured, we are aware of the qualities certain media have. However, there is more to it, and based on what I have experienced so far (I have watched 10K of videos in the past two decades), I'm not convinced that just screen capturing without an advanced context is the answer.

Fingers crossed, all the experience so far can be turned into a better methodology for future productions for the next "round".

                            My best wishes
