Connector gaps
-
Hi Dr Sassi, hope you're having a good start to 2025!
I'm trying to hang a block off a string in C4D and have a spline with a rope tag and connector and some dynamic blocks at either end so the main block swings down attached to the spline.
However, no matter how I tweak the settings I always get a gap between the block and the string. I intend to use a sweep to make the spline a 3d rope but it'll look pretty silly if there's a gap at the end.
Is there a way to have the ends of the spline lock onto the geometry better without the gap?
Is it something to do with dynamics order? To me it seems like the string isn't keeping up with the box.
Here's my project: https://we.tl/t-ijupqlaQwS
Thanks heaps!

Hi MaverickMongoose,
Yes I had, thanks for asking, I hope you a good one as well!
Thanks as well for the file and for using WeTransfer.
I'm unaware of a hard connection that would allow any force to keep the Connector length to zero.
I have set up a render for the rope, via RS Object.

My idea is more like a cluster of "directional" points where the Roper would be connected, simultaneously creating a typical bend resistance at the connection.
The closer those points are, the more force can be absorbed.Again, there might be somewhere a better solution, and I keep my eyes open. If I find something, I share it here.
Cheers

That's a great work around, works much better!
You've done it again, cheers for that!

Thank you very much, MaverickMongoose!
I also used the little Planes, with a selection of edges, to have an Edge to Spline. Which I then merged and connected.
I wish you lots of success with your project.
