Mesh light refuse to appear as PuzzleMatte ID or Cryptomatte
-
Hello, it is all in the title, in Redshift when I assign a mesh as a light source (area light in mesh mode) it refuses to appear inside PuzzleMatte ID or Cryptomatte
The only poor workaround is to render it in a different scene without Mesh lights
Is it a bug or a logical limitation ?Best

Hi resort-sand,
They behave like lights then, no longer as geometry.
Have you tried to get your information via Emission AOV?
The light has to be set to
Attribute Manager> Object> SHAPE> Visible [on].All the best

Thanks, I will check it

Thank you for the reply, resort-sand,
Please let me know how it goes.
All the best

I think the "visible" option is no longer available, maybe replaced by "block rays" but it doesn't work too, I am sure it is feasible in AOV data

Hi, resort-sand,
The data is in the Emission pass. You can assign a Light Group to the Light Object. The Emission information is then separated.
Another way would be to use an Incandescent material. An example is below.
Render in the Picture Viewer, select Layer>Single pass, then explore the results.
Cheers.
